Can uterine fibroids cause back pain

Can uterine fibroids cause back pain?Generally, whether or not uterine fibroids cause back pain is determined by the shape and size of the fibroid.

Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors in the female reproductive organs. If the fibroids are regular in shape and small in size, they usually do not affect the tissues and nerves in the back of the patient's body, and therefore no back pain will occur.

When uterine fibroids gradually increase in size, they may have an impact on the surrounding tissues such as compression. If the fibroid presses on the nerves, blood vessels or ureters in the pelvis, it may cause symptoms of low back pain. Larger fibroids may also cause the position of the uterus to change, pulling on the ligaments of the uterus, which in turn can lead to back pain.

When uterine fibroids cause menstrual abnormalities, such as excessive menstrual flow and prolonged menstrual periods, they may lead to anemia and a weaker body, which also makes women prone to back pain and other discomforts.
