When do you feel baby's kick

‌When do you feel baby's kick? Most pregnant women feel their baby's first kick around the 18th to 20th week of pregnancy. ‌As the weeks go by, the movements become more and more vigorous and regular. In the second trimester (20th to 24th week), the movements are so active that the expectant mother can feel the baby kicking, somersaulting and even bulging the abdomen.

‌The fetus's movements in the womb include kicking, punching, yawning, and sucking their fingers.‌ These movements become more pronounced at 16-18 weeks of pregnancy, when the mother can feel larger movements such as kicking and punching. The fetus's movements in the womb are not limited to kicking, but also include punching, opening and closing the mouth, moving the head, and sucking their fingers.‌

The peak times for fetal movement during the day are between 7 and 9 a.m. and between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. The child is less active at other times, especially in the early morning.

The intensity and frequency of fetal movements change with the number of weeks of pregnancy. In the second trimester (24–28 weeks), the fetus has more room to move around and the movements are more frequent and stronger. Towards the end of pregnancy (after 36 weeks), the movements become weaker due to the reduced space and the decrease in amniotic fluid.1 Pregnant women need to monitor fetal movements. If the movements suddenly decrease or increase significantly, it may be a sign of fetal hypoxia and you need to see a doctor in time.
