How to clean makeup brushes

How to clean makeup brushes?soak clean friction clean and dry clean. Makeup brushes are beauty tools we use every day, but do you clean them often?

First of all, we need to choose different cleaning methods according to the use and material of makeup brushes. Generally speaking, makeup brushes can be divided into three types:

Dry powder brushes, such as powder brushes, rouge brushes, eyeshadow brushes, etc., have less cosmetic residue and can be used for immersion or dry cleaning.

Cream brushes, such as foundation brushes, concealer brushes, eyeliner brushes, lip brushes, etc., have a large amount of cosmetic residue and need to be scrubbed.

Animal hair brushes, such as goat hair, sable hair, horse hair, etc., have delicate bristles that are not resistant to scrubbing. The dry cleaning method is recommended.

Next, I will detail the steps and precautions for each method

Soaking and cleaning method

Get a container and mix fresh water and professional washing water at a ratio of 1:1. If the product has a special mixing ratio requirement, please follow the instructions to mix well manually.

Dip the brush head into the water and circle it, you can see the water become cloudy.

Pour out the muddy water, place the water in a container, place the brush head in and continue to swirl.

Repeat several times until the water is no longer cloudy, then rinse under the faucet and dry with a paper towel.

Caution

When rinsing, do not rinse hair backwards.

If the brush shaft is made of wood, it should be dried quickly after soaking in water to avoid cracking after drying.

The joint between the bristles and nozzle is immersed in water and can easily lead to hair loss. Although immersion in water is unavoidable during rinsing, try not to immerse the entire brush in water, especially if detergent is present.

Friction cleaning method

Soak the brush head in water, then pour professional wash water onto your palm or laundry mat. TWO.

Repeat circling the brush head on the palm of your hand or scrub pad until a lather forms, then rinse with water.

Repeat the first two steps until the makeup brush is clean.

Finally, rinse under the faucet and dry with a paper towel.

Precautions

Choose professional washing water or weak acidic Johnson's Baby Shampoo. Do not use facial cleansers or silicone-based shampoos as they may affect the fluffiness of the mane and ability to grip powder.

To check for residual wash water, run the brush in your palm in repeated circles. If there are no bubbles or slippery feeling, this means the wash is clean.

Dry Cleaning Method

Cleaning Sponge Dry Cleaning Method: scrub the black sponge area several times clockwise with a freshly used makeup brush. Take out the sponge and wash it when it gets dirty, the absorbent sponge in the center is used to wet the eyeshadow brush for easy application of eye makeup, more suitable for eyeshadow without color.

Dry Cleaning Method for Loose Powder/Toner: Place dry makeup brushes in loose powder/toner, rinse until dirty, and the brushes will come clean. This creates the easiest method of applying a small amount of loose powder to a paper towel with the brush and wiping clean in the same direction.

Drying Method

After cleaning your brush, dry it with a paper towel or towel, including the handle.

If you have a brush, it's a good idea to cover the brush head with a brush to shape it. If you find it works slowly, you can set a brush when it's half dry.

Turn the brush upside down, insert it into a brush holder, and place it in a cool, ventilated area to dry. If you don't have a drying rack, lay it flat to dry or use a drying rack to hold and invert the brush to dry.

Exposure to sunlight or use of a hair dryer can cause the bristles to swell.
