How to get makeup stains out of clothes

Have you ever had the frustration of accidentally spilling nail polish on your jeans when you put your hand on your lap to apply it? Or leaving your foundation to soak through your skirt when you left your cosmetics in the car? We know how you feel. When the fun of wearing makeup becomes a bit annoying, you need to take action. These tips will help you remove makeup stains from your clothes.

Lipstick stains

First, use a small brush dipped in petrol to dab or soak and rub the stain. After removing the oil, wash the stain out with a lukewarm detergent solution. Fresh lipstick stains can be removed immediately by wiping with a piece of gauze soaked in alcohol and then washing in lukewarm water with detergent.

Lipstick stains

For lipstick stains on clothing, use perchloroethylene or hot water to remove the oil from the lipstick, then wash with detergent and finally rinse with clean water. For serious stains, rub with glycerin before washing. For fabrics that cannot be washed with water, rub with a sponge dipped in an oil solvent. Eyebrow pencil stains: If clothes are stained with eyebrow pencil, moisten the stain with solvent gasoline, then wash it out with a soapy solution containing ammonia, and finally rinse with clean water.

Nail polish stains

If nail polish stains clothing, you can scrub the stain with nail polish remover. When the stain is mostly removed, scrub again with perchloroethylene; or use a sponge dipped in acetone to remove the nail polish and then rub the fresh stain with a clean cloth until the stain is removed. Then wash with warm washing liquid and finally rinse with clean water. Perfume stains: Fresh perfume stains can be washed out immediately with hot water. For dried stains, rub with glycerin and then wash with water.

Hair dye stains

The garment can be dampened in water, the stain brushed with warm glycerin, then rinsed with water. A few drops of a 10% acetic acid solution can be added and the garment left to dry to remove the stain. Hair cream stains: The main ingredient in hair cream is fat. If clothes are stained with hair cream, you can use solvent gasoline or carbon tetrachloride to remove it. Old hair cream stains can be placed over steam to soften them before washing off as above. When scrubbing stains, place an old cloth or highly absorbent paper underneath the stain to prevent the grease from spreading.
